Tamper-Resistant Add Port Cap

Tamper-Resistant Add Port Caps are easy-to-use, hinged plastic caps that impede tampering when storing and transporting IV solutions.

Features:

  • EFFICIENT – Easy to apply and designed for one-handed application.
  • EASILY IDENTIFIABLE – Available in red or blue for use with Add Ports of differing sizes (see specifications).
  • EFFECTIVE – Caps are constructed of thick, durable polypropylene or high-density polyethylene that prevent needle penetration. When applied, the caps are difficult to remove, effectively restricting port access.

    • Specifications:

    • RED –For Add Ports with a Tubing OD less than 0.380”, a Shoulder OD between 0.390” – 0.550”, and a Shoulder Height less than 0.746”. Known to fit Baxter EXACTAMIX TPN Containers and Douglas Medical Products EcoFLXTM™ IV Containers.
    • BLUE – For Add Ports with a Tubing OD less than 0.34”, a Shoulder OD between 0.28” – 0.37”, and a Shoulder Height less than 0.37”. Known to fit Baxter Viaflex® and similar bags.

    Indications For Use:
    For use on IV bag additive port to prevent tampering by restricting port access.

    Contraindications/Precautions:

    • If the cap cannot be secured (snap closed) or if the additive port diameter is smaller than the cap opening, the Tamper-Resistant Add Port Cap should not be utilized.
